For Tracey Rooks, life with her grandparents on a Wyoming farm has always been simple. But after her grandmother's death, Tracey is all her grandfather has. So when Eagle Elite University announces its annual scholarship lottery, Tracey jumps at the opportunity to secure their future and enters. She isn't expecting much-but then she wins. And life as she knows it will never be same . . .

The students at Eagle Elite are unlike any she's ever met . . . and they refuse to make things easy for her. There's Nixon, gorgeous, irresistible, and leader of a group that everyone fears: The Elect.

Their rules are simple.

1. Do not touch The Elect.

2. Do not look at The Elect.

3. Do not speak to The Elect.

No matter how hard she tries to stay away, The Elect are always around her and it isn't long until she finds out the reason why they keep their friends close and their enemies even closer. She just didn't realize she was the enemy -- until it was too late.

Receiving a scholarship to a prestigious college was the answer to supporting the modest lifestyle Tracey Rooks lived with her grandparents. Being raised by her grandparents after her parents died, Trace loved the simple life she led in Wyoming. This scholarship could open up so many doors for her future.

What Trace didn’t know is the Eagle Elite was no ordinary college. The hierarchy surrounding the student body was a dynamic that Trace was unprepared for. She quickly learned the students in her school were rude and quite hostile. Then she found herself face to face with the Elect. This welcome party was led by Nixon…a tattooed, smart mouthed, bully that seemed to be in charge of the comings and goings on campus. Nixon quickly introduced Trace to the rules she must follow at the school. Everything from eating to taking the elevator was a privilege. One that could easily be taken from her for failure to follow the rules of The Elect.

Determined not to be intimidated, Trace butts heads with the handsome Nixon. Each day was becoming a struggle in this vicious social setting. The only solace that Trace had was the friendship of her roommate – Monroe. It just so happens that Monroe is Nixon’s twin, and acts as a referee between the two quite often. Even though Nixon makes life harder for Trace, she senses that he has a softer side beneath the bullying. What bothers her even more is that fact that Trace finds herself attracted to Nixon.

Things become confusing to Trace when Nixon is stand-offish one minute and kind to her the next. As they find themselves together more and more, Trace finds herself confused at the feelings she seems to have. A turn of events will leave Nixon uncovering a secret that Trace is not aware she harbors. Secrets that are so big they shake the very foundation that Tracey believes in.

Wow!! Where in the heck have I been?? I read Elite and found myself wondering why on earth I haven’t read a Rachel Van Dyken book before!!!! Elite is NOT your typical romance. It is full of secrets. Each one adding to the plot….building in intensity.

The journey that Nixon and Trace embark upon is unexpected. Readers will love and hate Nixon. His standing with the Eagle Elite will leave you wanting to strangle him. Nixon is fierce, possessive, secretive, and honorable. While Nixon’s dedication to protect Trace at all costs will pull on your heart strings, I found myself wanting to learn more about Chase.

The circumstances surrounding Tracey’s secret will lead the Elite on a journey that they did not see coming. Soon all of the Elect will find themselves at the center of turmoil, as the past comes crashing into their realities. Nothing could prepare Trace for the future….but her secrets are sure to define it.
